Review of Weddings R Us, LLC

While looking around Columbus for a place to get married, I found a place that offers a romantic wedding in a Vegas type setup. The place is called Weddings R Us LLC. They can do quick elopement type weddings to the bigger 60 guest weddings. Below is a few pictures from their website. (The dog is Rev. Vicki Bennett’s pet.)

Weddings R Us has a variety of locations you can get married in. When I got married, we chose the Elopement Chapel. Got several people with you or want a different location? No problem. You can also choose their Formal Chapel, the Garden Pavilion (which looks beautiful) or their Zen Garden. Each location has different costs so look to the website for details. I like how easy they make planning a simple wedding. They have a detailed cost sheet and packages, so you know exactly what you are getting and paying for.

Want a professional photographer? They can offer one. Don’t have a wedding gown or flowers? You can rent them. Getting married so fast that you don’t have rings yet? They can sell you some wonderful rings and great prices. Last but not least, you can also get a wedding cake with a 2-day notice. All these reasons are why my husband and I turned to Weddings R Us for our own wedding. Rev. Vicki Bennett happily married us on May 29th, 2008. So if you are ever in the need of someone to marry you or want to get married right away, I hope you will keep this wonderful place in the forefront of your mind.

Review of Cake Dots Wedding Cakes, LLC

While looking around Columbus for a cake for my wedding, I stumbled upon a hidden treasure. Cake Dots makes wonderful cakes and in a variety of flavors. This picture features some of the cakes they have made, and that is only a fraction of them! I only picked the ones I liked the best.

I had mentioned that they flavor their cakes, unlike many local bakeries. Their cake flavors are White, Almond White, Yellow, Almond Yellow, Chocolate, Marble, Snickerdoodle, and Red Velvet. They also have a huge variety of cake fillings! They have for basic fillings Apple, Blueberry, Cherry, Cookie Crumb Buttercream, Cream Cheese, Lemon Curd, Peach, Pineapple, Raspberry, Strawberry, and Strawberry Buttercream. Those are just the basic ones!! They also do specialty fillings like Amaretto, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Chocolate Ganache, Peanut Butter, Toasted Almond, Toasted Pecan, and Toasted Walnut. There is still more!! They also do gourmet fillings in Toasted Almond Buttercream, Toasted Pecan Buttercream, Toasted Walnut Buttercream, Amaretto with Toasted Pecan, Chocolate Ganache with a Liqueur, Chocolate Ganache with Raspberries, Cookie Crumb with one of the three toasted nuts, and Peanut Butter with Bourbon. That’s a lot of flavors!

Another reason I liked this company is the cost. The cost of the fillings is $0.75 per serving for the gourmet, $0.50 per serving for the specialty, and $0.25 per serving for basic. The base price for their wedding cakes is $3.75 per serving. I also like that you can meet the baker personally to get a quote on your design and sample some of their cakes and fillings. This many not be a bakery per say, but it is a wonderful treasure and a great place for brides to turn for their cakes.

One quick note, the baker also has lots of personality! Her website is fun and quirky not drab and boring. I get a smile just reading some of the pages on her site.
